The phylome of the wine yeast Dekkera bruxellensis' is now available. Dekkera plays an important role in the production of wine, as it can have either a positive or negative impact on taste. Also this yeast could be instrumental in the production of ethanol for fuel.
PhylomeDB has been recently expanded with the incorporation of eight new arthropoda species. This is part of our current efforts to coordinate our analysis with those of other annotation platforms. In this case, this is a joint effort with ArthropodaCyc, and the eight new arthropod phylomes have been used to help re-annotatating metabolic networks in these species.
As of February 2012, all Genolevures gene entries with a sequence appearing in a PhylomeDB tree will have a link to the corresponding phylogenetic tree in PhylomeDB. In this way Genolevures users will be one-click away from a comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of their genes of interest, including orthology and paralogy predictions.
From April 4th 2011, phylogenetic trees including Candida genes are directly linked from the Locus Summary page of each gene at Candida Genome Database. This is the main database storing genomic information from Candida albicans and related yeasts, linking to phylomeDB thus complements CGD by providing relevant phylogenetic analysis as well as orthology and paralogy predictions. The link is found at the "external links section" at the bottom of the Locus Summary Page.
